Chicago to Madrid is 8 hours in the air. We left at 11:40 a.m, and arrived in Madrid at 12:40 a.m. We slept some on the flight, but are very tired. It is now 3:35 p.m. in Oklahoma and I feel like we've been up for days!!!  It's only 10:35 a.m. In Spain.

Today's the day. No more "three days, two days". We're on the road. Chicago is still here. In the spirit of sampling its many cultural offerings while we wait for our flight to Madrid, we find ourselves in a Macaroni Grill, just like that one in Tulsa only not as nice and twice as expensive. This blog is available for you to read, if you want. Mainly, it is to provide a record of our trip so my feeble mind can remember things later, reminisce, etc. I'll add pictures later. We currently lack technology. We flew to Chicago in a tin can; not like a can of beans, but more like a can of tomato paste, or a jar of anchovies. Reyanna was our flight attendant. She was a big grumpy. I'm not sure I blame her. We take off from Chicago at 4:40 p.m. and arrive in Madrid 8 hours later at 7:40 a.m. We're planning on using the magic of Ambien to make it all work. We're Cruising!

The next trip is Stella-less. She has to stay home.

We start May 3, 2012 on "The Kevin Lived Cruise!" Our much-loved (we'll see how it goes after two weeks of traveling together!) travel companions are Tracy and Rosemary, aka Rose, aka Rosarini.

We start in Barcelona (by way of Chicago and Madrid) on May 4, 2012. Rita and I spend an extra day and night in Barcelona, and we set sail on the Ruby Princess on May 6 (after celebrating Rita's birthday in Barcelona on May 4!)

Our stops will include Monte Carlo, Florence/Pisa, Rome, Naples, Mykonos, Istanbul, Ephesus, Athens, and two nights in Venice.

We return May 19 to Tulsa, by way of Venice, London and Dallas.
